AFRAA – IATA Security Seminar to be hosted by Ethiopian Airlines

As part of measures to address issues relating to security in Africa, AFRAA will hold a Security Seminar in collaboration with IATA from 17 – 18 October 2018. The Seminar will be kindly hosted by Ethiopian Airlines at the Ethiopian Aviation Academy in Addis Ababa – Ethiopia. 

Security, which is among AFRAA’s top priority areas, is a prerequisite for a thriving aviation industry. The improvement of Security within the continent calls for greater support and cooperation of all so that African Airlines can have a most conducive environment to operate. Representatives from ICAO and IATA as well as other subject experts will be present at the Seminar to give valuable insights on regional activities, adoption of globally accepted safety and security standards, discussion of new and emerging aviation security and facilitation issues, among others. A detailed agenda has been attached for your kind reference.

Who should attend?

The Secretariat hereby invites representatives of the following functional areas of your airline to participate and kindly requests you to nominate any of them to attend the Security Seminar: 

i.Managers and decision makers with AVSEC responsibilities in passenger, cargo & ground handling 

ii.Staff involved in implementing security measures as part of their operational tasks

 

The Seminar will also be attended by Civil Aviation Authorities, airports and ground handlers.
