The AFRAA 2nd Air Cargo Meeting was held at Sheraton Hotel in Casablanca, Morocco on 22 – 23 May 2017.
Among various matters on cargo development in Africa discussed, the meeting also reviewed a paper to be presented to 2nd ICAO meeting on Air Cargo development in Africa 27 – 29 June 2017 in Addis Ababa. Based on the Togo/Lome Declaration August 2014, members reviewed the document to come up with a text that will be presented to the ICAO scheduled for June 2017.
The meeting was hosted by RAM and attended by 18 representatives from 8 member airlines including Royal Air Maroc, Air Algerie, South African Airways, RwandAir, Astral Aviation, Express Air Cargo, EgyptAir and Libyan Airlines. And among the industry partners in attendance at the meeting, there was a presentation by CHAMP Cargosystems and Pan-African Postal Union.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Hesham Elewa, General Manager Commercial EgyptAir Cargo assisted by Mr. Sanjeev Gadhia, CEO Astral Aviation.
The next meeting is scheduled in September 2017 and will be hosted by Express Air Cargo in Tunis. Further details will be posted in due course
